FUND A
PROJECT
Check out some of the projects that we currently need help funding as well as some of the things that we've already accomplished through your support.
Because of your generosity and support, Christ Way Missions has survived until today. It is because of your support that we can provide better facilities and resources to our children.
1. Incubator & Chicken Coop
One of our goals and something we already have some experience in is raising chickens. Chickens are an amazing resource here in Bungoma.
Chicken eggs can be used for food while also incubated to create chicks. Chickens can be butchered and sold in the local marketplace for food or they can be sold to families who would like to raise chickens of their own.
Funds are currently needed to purchase a state-of-the-art incubator that can incubate 2000 chicks at one time. This incubator can be powered in many ways, one of which is solar power, making it great for us in case we have no access to other power sources. This incubator and chicken coop would change things dramatically for our orphanage.
The incubator cost is $2,500. Repairs and updates to the chicken coop amount to $1,000. $1,500 will be used to purchase a machine that will help us to make our own chicken feed and the rest of the funds will be used to buy new chickens. Thanks for your support.

2. Corn Crop Farming
One of our main focuses is to grow healthy crops of corn to provide food for our children. We have 20 acres of farmland and we harvest twice per year. Corn is also used to sell in the marketplace and to make our own chicken feed.
Fertilizer is very important to ensure that we yield the best crop possible. Also, pesticides are necessary to ensure that our crops do not get compromised by worms that eat the crop and ultimately damage our harvest. Almost all of our crops so far have been affected by a lack of good fertilizer and pesticides.
With your support, we intend to grow strong crops of corn so that we can ensure that we always have food available for these children, especially in the case of emergencies.
We harvest twice per year and each harvest costs us $5,000

3. Mattresses & Blankets
50 of our mattresses and our blankets here at the orphanage have become worn and are not suitable any longer for the children to be able to get a good night's rest.
Also, mosquito nets are necessary to ensure the children can sleep through the night without getting bitten.
A new mattress costs $25, blankets cost $15 and mosquito nets cost $10. So, a $50 donation buys one bed set for our orphans.
With your support, we will replace our old worn bedding with new bedding for the children.
Thank you and God Bless you.

New Dorms, Classrooms & General Facilities
In 2019, we were informed by local government officials that we would have to rebuild and repair our facilities for health and safety reasons in order to stay up to code. If we did not, our orphanage would have been in danger of being closed down, leaving over $250 children without a home.
Because of your support, we were able to build new facilities for our children with the correct materials, sheltering them from natural weather elements. Now, our orphanage is a safer and more comfortable place for the children to learn and grow in.
Completed in 2019 | Cost: $10,000+

Installation of our Water Well
For much of our history at Christ Way Missions, our water supply came from "pore holes" in the ground that we dug with our hands. We would dig down until we came to water and then use containers to get the water out for our consumption. When the water level became low, we would dig down further with our hands. During arid seasons, we would have to walk five miles to the closest stream and carry water back to the compound in large containers.
But in August of 2016, all that came to an end! Our Lord blessed us with a generous donor who provided funds for us to drill our own water well. We had engineers come and access our land and choose the best spot to drill a well.
Oh, what a glorious day it was when the water poured out of the ground! We now have the only clean and safe water in the area. Now, people come from near and far to get water from our well.
