ABOUT
CHRIST WAY

From small beginnings to the humble home our compound offers today, we have followed our Lord's lead to care for His children by making them our own.

help a child in need

In 2005, Clapperton Muchanga and his first wife Salome Nelima (who has since gone to be with the Lord) received a vision from the Lord to care for the hurting children in their area. The vision began after they had supernaturally dreamed the same dream on the same night. In bewilderment, they shared with each other about a dream in which the Lord directed them to "take care of His children". They rescued their first orphans, a set of infant twins, from a local dump just a few weeks later.

Christ Way Missions is now home to more than 250 orphans as well as Clapperton's family, friends, and staff. Clapperton, his family, and his staff have fully committed themselves for over 15 years to provide for these children by fathering them, feeding them, developing them through their own classwork and schools, and raising them up in the Lord Jesus Christ. And this way of life hasn't come without its share of trials and challenges.

Now, it is our mission at Christ Way Missions to provide a substantial level of individual care for each of our orphans and for the community of Bungoma, Kenya at large. We desire to build a thriving organization that can regularly and consistently provide for our children, build for their future, and care for our community. Our goal is to restore hope to the orphans and vulnerable children in Kenya and the neighboring country of Uganda.

While committed to feeding and fathering these children, Clapperton and his staff also serve in full-time ministry where they visit local prisons and share the gospel, provide resources and care packages to their community, lead a local church body located on Christ Way grounds, and minister to the community at large.

& More

One of our main initiatives at Christ Way Missions is to foster an environment that favors self-reliance over dependence on our local communities for support.

Some of our focuses include farming crops, a self-governed education system, our own chicken coops, and our own well for clean water.

When you support Christ Way Missions, know that we are working to establish ourselves through local business in the marketplace. We want to create an ecosystem of self-sustained growth so that we can pour out God's provision onto our communities as well as our children.

Outreach

OUTREACH

Christ Way Missions is committed to sharing the hope of Christ with our local community in Bungoma, Kenya, and the neighboring country of Uganda.

We are a Christian ministry who takes care of the orphans and the widows in our communities.

1. Christ Way Missions Church

Our orphanage property is home to our church building where we host our weekly Sunday services. At our services, we minister to our staff and our children, but our services are also open to the community of Bungoma as we all come together to grow in Christ, in the word of God, and to worship the Lord. Our church here on the orphanage grounds has served as a light to many, and all are welcome to join us as we seek and grow closer to God, together.

2. Community Outreach

Oftentimes, our community looks to the orphanage to help provide for those people who are hurting and struggling in Bungoma. Whether it's a care package with needed food and clothing for local families in need or for those struggling with life's hardships who may be in need of an encouraging word, we're there to offer supplies when possible and to share the love of Christ with our community.

3. Prison Outreach

Clapperton Muchanga and some of the leaders of our church have been asked to visit our local prison to help minister to the inmates there. We've even collected Life Recovery materials from the United States to help share hope with struggling addicts and alcoholics who are starting to find freedom from their addictions and life's problems. We help inmates find hope and true purpose by sharing the love of Christ, the truth of God's word, and practical steps they can take to better their life for themselves and their families.

Our
Mission

Our Mission at Christ Way Missions is to restore hope to the orphans and vulnerable children in Kenya and the neighboring country of Uganda by providing them with a family, a home, food, schooling, and other needs as well as raising them up into a life lived unto God through Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

Our vision is to provide a home filled with the love of Jesus Christ while administering physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental nourishment along with the highest level of education possible to ensure a bright and promising future for each child our Lord entrusts to us.

We believe that as we continue to grow as an organization, we will be able to fund and further each child's individual goals and dreams that they've received to be able to partner with the Lord Jesus throughout their life. Our hope is that as we raise up these sons and daughters of God that they will each individually impact this world with the hope of the Gospel and that they will be empowered to build God's Kingdom on the Earth.

Our Values

Give to a child in need. Your support will help to feed and establish our ministry.

Jesus Christ - The goal of everything that we do is to worship our Savior, Lord, and God. His death on the Cross and the forgiveness and salvation that we received from Him means everything to us and drives everything that we do. We follow Jesus Christ no matter where it leads us and we do it because we love Him. (Romans 12:1-2, Matthew 22:37-39)

Salvation - We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus. Nothing more and nothing less. This idea affects everything that we do and it affects the eternity of every person on this earth. Because of this, our greatest desire is to see someone go from death to life in Christ; to be born again through the love of Jesus. The name of our ministry originated from this very idea, that it is through "the Way of Christ" that we can do anything. No matter what else we do in this world, our ultimate goal is to see souls saved by Jesus Christ our Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 2:8-9)

The Bible - We believe the Bible is the Word of God. Because glorifying Jesus is our ultimate goal, we rely on the Bible to teach us how to worship Him and how to follow Him. The Bible is our authority because it is how God has chosen to specifically reveal Himself to us. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

The Church - We believe the church is the body of Christ with Jesus Christ as the head. We believe every local church should be self-governing and independent from any denominational control. Each church determines its own strategy, structure, and style.  The purpose of the church is to worship God and make Him known to the world and to love others as Jesus Christ loves us. (Ephesians 4:11-16, 1 Corinthians 12:12-31)

Christian Life - We believe that every Christian’s ultimate purpose is to live for the glory of God. This occurs as we grow in intimacy with God through prayer, His written word, Christian fellowship, and living obediently and responsively to Him. (John 15:1-5, 2 Corinthians 5:14-21)

Worship - We believe Worship is more than a song, but involves all that we are physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Worship comes in many forms, including how we live our daily lives. (Matthew 22:37-38, 1 Corinthians 10:31)

Stewardship – We believe God created the heavens and the earth and He has absolute rights of ownership over all things. We accept the stewardship of these things as our purpose in this world as assigned to us by God, Himself. It is our divinely given opportunity to join with God in His worldwide and eternal redemptive movement by receiving the strength, inspiration, and growth in the management of our lives from God through the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19-20, Philippians 4:13)

Taking Care of Orphans - We believe God and His Word has specifically called us to care for and love the orphans that He sends to us. We believe that on an eternal and spiritual level, we were orphans without a Heavenly Father but that God saved us and adopted us into His family as sons and daughters. We follow this example of God and desire to take care of and love children who do not have families to take care of them. (James 1:27)

Helping the Poor -  God's Word is very clear as it teaches us to help the poor, the disadvantaged, the helpless, and the hurting. As followers of Christ, we will do this to the best of our ability. We will use the resources He provides to us to further the Kingdom of God and take care of His children. (1 John 3:16-17)
